Weak and confusing storyline, Prashant Neel fails to show the magic of KGF

One can keep one's mouth open after watching Prabhas's action sequence. Prabhas's most awaited film Salaar has been released today. We will review this film. The length of the film is 2 hours 52 minutes. Jury has given the film a 3 out of 5 star rating.

Weak and confusing storyline, Prashant Neel fails to show the magic of KGF
Salaar

What is the story of the film?
Like KGF, the story of Salaar also starts from a fantasy world. The life of Aadhya (Shruti Hassan), who has returned from America, is in danger. Aadhya runs away and hides in a woman's house. That woman is Deva i.e. Prabhas's mother. Deva saves him from those goons. Gradually Aadhya comes to know the truth about Deva and her family.

The story moves to the world of 'Khansar' in the second half. Khansar is a place where people live in a separate world. They do not consider themselves part of the country. They have their own army. Even the British kneel before him. After independence, there is king's rule there.

After the death of the king, the fight for the throne begins. Rajamannar (Jagapathi Babu) becomes king through deceit. For this he gets the entire colony of his rivals killed. Although some of them survive. Rajamannar's son Vardha and Deva are friends since childhood. Deva wants to make Vardha the king in the future, for this he also fights with the enemies. Although Deva also has a connection with Throne of Khansar, now to know what that connection is, you will have to watch the film.

How is the acting of the star cast?
Prabhas has not been able to give his 100% since Baahubali. Something similar was seen in this film also. One of the main reasons for this is Prabhas's knee injury. His body movement is no longer the same as before. This thing is clearly visible on the screen. Despite this, Prabhas's acting is worthy of praise. There are some scenes in which the mouth can remain open. It is much better than his last few films like Saaho, Radheshyam and Adipurush. Although he has a number of dialogues in the film. Many sequences pass without saying a single word.

Prithviraj Sukumaran's performance in the role of Vardha is good. Contrary to the trailer, his character in the film has been kept very weak. Although he has done justice to his role. Shruti Haasan has got very little screen time.

How is the direction?
The audience was hopeful that director Prashant Neel would be able to recreate the magic of KGF. However, here he seems to have failed completely. He has not been able to get the best out of any actor including Prabhas. In the first half he has kept the story completely confusing. He has definitely tried to get the car back on track in the second half.

Sepia mode is often seen in Prashant Neel's films. His films look a little dark on the screen. The same has been seen in Salar also. The director has made good use of VFX.

How is the music?
The BGM of the film is very simple. In today's time, where a lot of work is being done on background music, it was completely missing in this film. The background music of KGF is still discussed today. The BGM of Salaar is nowhere near this.

Positive point of the film
Two-three action scenes will create thrill. An attempt has been made to take you to a different world through the film. If seen visually, the director has also been successful in this. Prabhas' old action avatar is seen in this film after a long time. The last hour of the second half is quite interesting.

Negative point of the film
In the first half it is difficult to understand where the film is going. A lot of time has been spent in crafting the story. The BGM of the film is quite disappointing. Prabhas could have been given a few more dialogues.

Final Verdict, watch or not
Prabhas fans can watch this film once. The audience might be hoping that some new action sequences and thrillers will be seen in the film. They will definitely be disappointed.
