Singer Hardil Pandya Faces FIR Over Harassment Allegations; Contradictory Statements Raise Questions
FIR has been registered against singer Hardil Pandya following allegations of harassment made by Dr. Rutu Sidhawat. The case has drawn attention due to inconsistencies between Pandya’s official complaint and his public statements on social media.
The controversy surrounding singer Hardil Pandya has intensified following the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) by Dr. Rutu Sidhawat, alleging harassment of a married woman. The case has drawn attention not only for the alleged incident but also for apparent inconsistencies between Pandya’s official statements and his public narrative.
The FIR, lodged at Vastrapur Police Station, comes after a preliminary application was first filed at Bodakdev Police Station. According to Dr. Sidhawat, the incident involved aggressive behavior by Pandya, who allegedly used abusive language directed at her and her husband, Shyam Sidhawat, a respected figure in the entertainment industry. Dr. Sidhawat also claims that Pandya was under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
Pandya, however, has publicly framed the dispute as a disagreement over song rights, downplaying the severity of the alleged harassment. Legal experts note a significant contradiction between Pandya’s FIR and a subsequent social media video he released. In his FIR, Pandya reportedly mentioned being accompanied by friends and meeting another acquaintance at the location, whereas in the video he claimed to have merely passed by, suggesting the encounter was coincidental. Investigators may examine these contradictions, as inconsistencies between sworn statements and public narratives can affect credibility.
According to Dr. Sidhawat, the situation escalated when her brother, Pavan Parmar, intervened and slapped Pandya after the singer’s alleged harassment. Her husband was also reportedly slapped while attempting to leave the venue. She further alleges that Pandya threatened her and displayed aggressive behavior, holding a heavy object and making menacing gestures.
The complainant has raised concerns over Pandya’s post-incident conduct, including a social media video referencing Shyam Sidhawat and reports of coordinated media narratives, which critics argue may have aimed to influence public perception.
Authorities have confirmed that the case is under active investigation. While an FIR does not imply guilt, legal experts emphasize that allegations involving harassment of a married woman, contradictory accounts, and attempts to manage post-incident narratives are taken seriously under Indian law. The outcome of the investigation will depend on the examination of evidence, witness statements, and the credibility of conflicting accounts.
The case has sparked significant public and media attention, highlighting concerns about accountability, harassment, and the impact of social media narratives in high-profile disputes.
