Bengaluru police have filed a chargesheet against 17 persons, including Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, in the Renukaswamy murder case. The actor's girlfriend Pavithragowda is already in police custody for kidnapping and brutally murdering the superstar Darshan fan named Renukaswamy. According to the chargesheet filed in court, it has been mentioned that Renukaswamy used to send obscene photos and lewd messages to Darshan's girlfriend Pavithragowda, which has been projected as a reason for his murder.
Renukaswamy believed that Pavithragowda was spoiling the family life of actor Darshan. The investigating police have confirmed the information in this regard directly from the Instagram account. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand told the reporters on Wednesday that after completing the investigation of all aspects of this murder, a 3991-page chargesheet has been filed in the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. While 17 persons, including the main accused actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, have been arrested in this case, they remain in judicial custody.

Sources say that Renukaswamy hated Pavithragowda. In support of Darshan's wife, she had sent obscene photos to Pavithragowda and said that she was better than Darshan. Pavithragowda informed Darshan's assistant Pawan about this and told him to deal with the situation without informing Darshan. But Pawan informed Darshan about this. After that Darshan was kidnapped by Raghavendra, the president of the fan club, on the outskirts of Chitradurga. When Darshan and Pavithragowda reached the place of kidnapping, they tortured Renukaswamy the whole night. They burnt many parts of his body and kicked him until he died.
