Israel has now promised to step up attacks on Rafah, a city that borders Egypt, after the destruction of Khan Yunis, the southern city of the Gaza Strip. We have set a date for this, stated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a video message on Monday. However, he did not elaborate on this.

At the same time, Israel's close ally America has said that carrying out ground attacks in Rafah would be a big mistake for Israel. It has instead sought to find alternative solutions. Israel had earlier on Sunday withdrawn its troops from Khan Yunis. Now the original Palestinians have started returning there, but are upset after seeing the ruins all around.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Forces said on Tuesday morning that Hamas terror commander Hatem Alrameri was killed in an airstrike in the Gaza Central Camp on Monday night. Alrameri was involved in the launch of rockets within the Maghazi battalion of Hamas' central camps. Along with this, the Israeli force claimed that it had used the maritime missile defence system for the first time to shoot down a drone coming from the Red Sea.

Israeli forces also reported that its warplanes attacked the Syrian Army military infrastructure in the Mahjajah region of the country overnight Monday. Said, a day before this we had attacked a Syrian Army base in the south of the country with artillery. On the other hand, Nicaragua has accused Germany in the UN's top court of helping in the genocide in Gaza. Said, selling arms to Israel reflects this. Germany rejected these allegations.

PM Netanyahu said that Israeli mediators are trying to reach a ceasefire agreement with the Hamas delegation in Egypt. At the same time, Hamas said on Tuesday that none of its demands have been accepted in Israel's new proposal regarding ceasefire. But, he will study Israel's proposal before giving any reply. Said, the proposal has been received through the mediators of Egypt and Qatar.

On Tuesday, amidst worsening relations due to the Gaza war, Israel and Turkey announced tit-for-tat trade restrictions. It was Turkiye that first declared it would prohibit exporting 54 different kinds of goods to Israel with immediate effect. Turkiye is a strong opponent of Israel's military operations in Gaza.

Chemical fertilisers, steel, aluminium, jet fuel, and building supplies are a few of these. We are also getting ready to outlaw Turkish goods, responded Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
