Maldives President Mohammed Muizzu on a 4-day visit to India: Maldives President Mohammed Muizzu reached Delhi on Sunday on a 4-day visit to India. This is the first state visit of Muizzu to India after becoming the President of Maldives and he has come to India on the invitation of Indian President Draupadi Murmu. Although Muizzu, too, came to India in June to attend the swearing-in ceremony of PM Narendra Modi's third term, this was a state visit. Accompanied by his wife Sajidha Mohamed, Muizzu has come to India.

Muizzu, along with his wife Sajida, arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, Monday, 7 October. He was given a state welcome in which PM Modi and President Murmu were also present and welcomed Muizzu and his wife.

Today, Muizzu is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with PM Modi. It was declared that the meeting between both would be carried out at Hyderabad Bhavan in Delhi, where working together in many sectors would be discussed to strengthen the bilateral relationship between both countries. But this topic is not only to be discussed in the meeting, actually, Maldives has taken a loan of 400.9 million dollars from India whose value according to Indian currency is about Rs 3,366 crore. At the moment, the Maldives are in no position to pay that, and Muizzu seeks some relief in this regard.

Muizzu is also scheduled to meet President Murmu and the Vice-President, Jagdeep Dhankhar. Besides that, some other high officials of the government are also on Muizzu's agenda.
