Priyanshu's big revelation on the release of 'Mirzapur 3', said, Vishal Sir has no answer

Actor Priyanshu Panuli is very excited these days about his upcoming series 'Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley'. He believes that this series has been a big dream project for him. Even before this, Priyanshu was going to work with producer-director Vishal Bhardwaj but due to some reason that project could not start.

How was the experience of working with Vishal Bhardwaj in the web series ‘Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley’?
From the beginning it has been my dream to work with Vishal Bhardwaj. I am a big fan of his films and music. I first met him when we were going to do a project together on Salman Rushdie's book 'Midnight Children'. But that show could not start. After a long time, a call came from his office for 'Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley'. He liked my audition. And, gave me a chance to play a very colorful character in the series. Vishal sir also liked my character in ‘Super Hero Bhavesh Joshi’. His style of storytelling is excellent. I think Vishal Bhardwaj is on one side and the rest of the industry is on the other.

Is this the character of the web series 'Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley'?
In this series I am playing the role of Sitaram Bisht. He is a very colorful character. Himachal is a local journalist from Kullu Manali. When he gets a murder case, he thinks that by joining it he will become a national level journalist. Vamika Gabbi is playing the role of a detective in this series. To play this character, I watched videos of many journalists on YouTube. Learn manners of speaking by talking to local people. There are many shades of Sitaram Bisht. In this series, I got a chance to work with veteran stars like Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak, Lara Dutta, Neena Gupta, Paoli Dam and Chandan Roy Sanyal. This was also a different experience.

Naseeruddin's entire family is working in this series.
Yes, apart from Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak, his sons Vivaan Shah and Imad Shah are also playing special roles in this series. Have been watching Naseer Sir's films since childhood. I have also seen many of his plays. But they met for the first time only during the shooting of this series. When he comes into his character, one gets a little nervous seeing him. But, he doesn't show off at all. His dedication towards work is something to learn from. I learned a lot from seeing their expressions.

And, how did you get the break in the first film 'Rock On 2'?
While working in theatre, many film offers came. My thinking from the beginning has been that even if there is a small character in the film, it should be an important part of the story of the film. When Abhishek Banerjee, the casting director for 'Rock On 2', called me and told me about the character, I found it a very interesting character. I was getting a chance to prove myself in this film. It was a big film, I was getting a chance to do something different among big stars like Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal. In this film I played the role of Shraddha Kapoor's brother Rahul Sharma.

And, you worked with Abhishek Banerjee in 'Rashmi Rocket'?
In ‘Rashmi Rocket’ I played the character of Captain Gagan Thakur of the Indian Army. My father has been a colonel in the Indian Army. I had to make the character of this film look like an army officer. I was very curious to know what the people of Papa's group would think when they saw the film. Got a chance to work with Taapsee Pannu in this film. He is a very hardworking artist.

'Mirzapur 3' is already being discussed a lot. Is there anything special new going to happen in this?
When we met Pankaj Tripathi on the sets of 'Mirzapur 2', the same thing happened between us that neither we had worked together on the sets of 'Mirzapur 2' nor in the Hollywood film 'Extraction'. The story was such that we never got a chance to shoot a scene together. The shooting of 'Mirzapur Season 3' is over, everyone is asking when is it coming, I think it should come soon. They have plans in January or February. This time there will be a lot of surprises.
