Tanushree Dutta is an actress who predominantly works in Bollywood, but the actress who was a Femina Miss India Universe 2004 is also known for the Me Too movement. The actress alone raised her voice against atrocities being committed against female artists in Bollywood. Recently, the actress shared that the Me Too accused had approached her to work in a project, but she refused it. She said quite categorically that she wanted to clean up her image by working with him, but she would not like to set a wrong example in doing so.

Recently, the actress, on paying the price for being vocal during a conversation with News 18 said, "What is needed is that every actor should be ready to sacrifice a little for an issue. In December 2018, I was offered a film by a very big producer. He has made some great films. But his director was accused of MeToo and I immediately refused it. Who is losing in this deal? I have not worked in a film for a very long time."

The actress further shared that last year, too, she got an offer from a Kolkata film director; as per the actress, she turned down that offer because she felt that the director wanted to work with her in order to clean his image after the sexual misconduct allegations. She further revealed "Why did he come to me? He thinks MeToo has been over for a long time and if he takes me in his film, it will create an impression that I am taking his side. He wanted to change his image through me." If I did that film, it would look like the MeToo leader is now supporting an accused. I politely refused. There was an agency involved. I told them that I want to let the film go. I also consulted my father on the matter and he told me that it would not be morally right to do a film with someone who is an accused.' Tanushree hinted that she sacrificed when she needed work. She now expects others to come forward with the same amount of honesty for change to occur.

Back in 2008, Actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of molesting her on the sets of 'Horn OK Please'. Facing political backlash, criticism by the artists in the Indian film industry respectively, Nana Patekar denied it. In 2018, Tanushree spoke again about this incident during the 'Me Too India Movement'. She said that her career had become a risk after she publicly filled in the bad experiences of harassment on film sets.
