Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Australia on Wednesday and held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. During this, PM Modi and Anthony Albanese discussed many issues including trade, defense, and technology. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese issued a joint statement after the meeting. During this, PM Modi has raised the issues of incidents of vandalism in temples and separatist attacks in Australia. PM Modi said that it is not acceptable for any element to hurt the cordial relations between India and Australia with their thoughts or actions. At the same time, Anthony Albanese assured us to take strict steps.

PM Modi said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and he have discussed the issue of attacks on temples in Australia and activities of separatist elements. PM Modi once again discussed this matter. PM Modi said that the Australian PM had assured him of strict action against those involved in such sabotage.

PM Modi has said that no element should hurt the cordial relations between India and Australia through their thoughts or actions. If this happens then we do not accept it. Along with this further said that I thank PM Albanese for the steps taken in this regard. He has once again assured me that he will take strict action against such elements.

In the month of January this year, Khalistani separatists targeted several Hindu temples located in Australia. This was followed by an attack by Khalistan supporters on the Sri Lakshmi Narayan Temple, a prominent Hindu temple located in Brisbane in March. This was the fourth incident of vandalism in Hindu temples in Australia during the last two months.
