Sikkim Earthquake: Earthquake tremors were felt in Sikkim in the early hours of Friday. According to the National Center for Seismology, earthquake tremors were felt in Soreng of Sikkim at 6.57 am. Its intensity was measured at 4.4 on the Richter scale. Earlier on Thursday, earthquake tremors of 7.1 magnitude were felt in Japan. Sikkim is one of the high zone areas of earthquake. The state has been placed in Zone-4.

No loss of life or property has been reported due to the earthquake. Sikkim falls in one of the high zone areas of earthquakes. As per the officials, the state has been placed in Zone-4.
On Thursday, strong earthquakes were felt in Japan. A magnitude 7.1 quake made the people of southwest Japan feel its tremors. The waves rose to as much as 20 cm in Miyazaki Prefecture of Kyushu after the earthquake.
