Mental stress is increasing in India due to these reasons, shocking revelations in the report
Mental Health Helpline: Analysis of calls received on India's toll-free mental health helpline Tele-Manas has revealed that most people call for complaints related to sleep disturbances.

Complaints of sleep disturbances have topped the list of calls received on Tele-Manas, India's toll-free mental health helpline. Since its launch in October 2022, Tele-Manas has answered over 3.5-lakh calls from across the country, a report released by the government on Thursday said. The general overview of the type of complaints, according to the Evaluation Report on Tele-Manas, showed that the top four complaints were about Sleep Disturbances (14%), Mood Sadness (14%), Stress-related (11%), and Anxiety (9%).
The report identified less than 3 percent related to suicide cases in total. The majority are male callers, 56 percent, and aged between 18-45 years, 72 percent, who call the Tele-Manas helpline.
A student girl in her 20s approached Tele-Manas when disturbances in sleep started bamboozling her life. According to the government report, it was reported that after staying in a hostel with some friends, her sleep cycle had gone for a toss due to excessive usage of cell phones and laptops. Officials said the overall profile of usage shows most of the complaints received on Tele-Manas are of common mental disorders.
