'America is trying to establish its dominance in the Asia-Pacific region', China said - Preparations are being made to form a group like NATO

America and China have long had a tense relationship. Both countries are constantly attempting to gain an advantage over one another. Meanwhile, China has levelled a major accusation against America. A Chinese official has stated that America is forming a group similar to NATO as part of its Indo-Pacific strategy to maintain its dominance in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Chinese Defence Ministry has stated this. He stated that America's goal in forming an Asian-Pacific alliance similar to NATO is to reduce China's influence.

Lieutenant General Jing Jianfeng, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, issued a statement in response to US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin's speech at the Shangri La Dialogue, which discussed strengthening alliances and partnerships. The Shangri La Dialogue, held every year in Singapore, is Asia's major defense summit.

Lieutenant General Jing had said during this conference, that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, also known as the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance of 32 member countries - 30 European and 2 North American. He said the Indo-Pacific strategy is creating conflict among themselves.

General Jing Jianfeng says, its purpose is to merge the small circle of the Asia-Pacific version of NATO into a larger circle to maintain US-led dominance. China claims almost the entire South China Sea, although Taiwan, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam claim parts of it.

He also said that America can be safe only when Asia is safe. For this reason, America has maintained its presence in Asian regions for a long time.
