1. Earth received the first laser message from space
On November 23, America's space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) reported that Earth has received a laser beam message from space for the first time. This message was sent to Earth from a distance of 16 million kilometers (10 million miles). You can also estimate this distance of 16 million kilometers from the fact that this distance is about 40 times more than the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
This message was sent from NASA's Psyche spacecraft present in space. It took only 50 seconds to receive this laser beam message. At present, communication with spacecraft is done using radio signals. Now this achievement will pave the way to improve communication in space.
2. Making demands at gunpoint is not marriage
On November 23, Patna High Court of Bihar has declared Pakdua marriage invalid. Justice PB Bajanthri and Justice Arun Kumar Jha have given this decision while hearing the case of a forced marriage that took place 10 years ago. Patna High Court said that Hindu marriage is not valid unless it is voluntary and does not involve 'Saptapadi' i.e. seven rounds of fire.
While hearing the petition of a soldier of Nawada district, HC declared Pakdua marriage invalid. In captive marriage, a marriageable boy is kidnapped and forcefully married.
3. Afghanistan embassy in India is closed
On November 23, the Afghanistan government has permanently closed the Afghanistan Agency located in Delhi. The Afghanistan government said that the embassy is being closed due to lack of help from the Indian government.
The Afghan government had stopped operations at the embassy from October 1. The Afghanistan government had taken this decision due to lack of facilities and employees.
4. Navy successfully tests missile
On November 21, the Indian Navy successfully tested anti-ship missile in the Bay of Bengal. This is the country's first anti-ship missile, which has been developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The anti-ship missile was fired from the Navy's Sea King helicopter. This missile is not detected by enemy radar and weighs 380 kg. Its speed is 980 kilometers per hour, and range is 5 to 55 kilometers.
Top story: JEE Advanced 2024 exam dates released
The exam date of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced 2024 has been released. JEE Advanced 2024 exam will be held on 26 May 2024. The application window for this will open on 21 April 2024 and 30 April 2024 will be the last date to apply. This time this exam is being conducted by IIT Madras. Top 2.5 lakh candidates who appeared for JEE Mains 2024 exam will be able to register for JEE Advanced 2024 by visiting jeeadv.ac.in. Its admit cards will be released on 17th May and the exam will be conducted on 26th May 2024.
Common Admission Test i.e. CAT 2023 exam is being held on 26th November. For those whose exam is being held in the 8.30 am shift, the reporting time is 7 am. Those whose exam is at 12.30 pm will have to report by 11 am. Candidates whose exam is in 4.30 pm shift will have to report by 3 pm.
