The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that it has been observed that there has been a huge increase in the number of foreign job seekers being defrauded through fake job offers by unregistered recruitment agents and overcharging of Rs 2-5 lakh. Is. These illegal agents work without obtaining license from the Ministry of External Affairs.

These agents operate through various social media sites including Facebook, WhatsApp, text messages and other such mediums and provide little or no details about their whereabouts and contacts. They generally communicate only through WhatsApp, making it difficult to trace the location and identity of the caller and the genuineness of the job offer.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, it has been said that such agents also lure workers to work in difficult and life-threatening conditions. Such cases are being reported for recruitment for work in many Eastern European countries, some Gulf countries, Central Asian countries, Canada, Myanmar and Lao People's Democratic Republic, Israel.
