Taiwan: According to media reports, James Lee, Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of European and American Studies of Academia Sinica, said, 'The survey discussed the credibility of the United States and how it has changed over time and how much the threat of China has increased.'
A survey has revealed that the threat of China's attack on Taiwan has increased. The people of Taiwan themselves have accepted this. A survey conducted by Taiwan-based Academia Sinica claims that about 60 percent of Taiwanese residents say that the threat of China against Taiwan has increased in the past few years.
According to media reports, James Lee, an assistant research fellow at the Institute of European and American Studies of Academia Sinica, said, 'The survey discussed the credibility of the United States and how it has changed over time and how much the threat from China has increased, as well as how the people of Taiwan view American and Chinese signals.' The special thing is that 80 percent of Taiwanese people believe that China and Taiwan are not the same country. At the same time, 13 percent of people believe that China and Taiwan are the same country.
The survey report has seen an increase of 7.2 percentage points in American credibility, from 34 percent in the year 2023 to 41 percent this year. The people of Taiwan are also not unanimous on whether America will defend Taiwan if Trump is elected President of America. This survey has been conducted at a time when tensions between China and Taiwan are increasing. Recently, Taiwan's Defense Ministry reported that 22 Chinese PLA aircraft and 8 PLAN ships violated Taiwan's border. Taiwan's army is also conducting the annual Han Kuang military exercise. The Taiwanese Defense Ministry said that the military threat to Taiwan has increased in recent years.
