Ruckus in Malayalam film industry, South superstar Mohanlal resigns from the post of AMMA President; entire committee dissolved

Now in view of the allegations, all the office bearers including its president and top actor Mohanlal resigned from their posts on Tuesday. Various sexual abuse allegations were leveled against several members of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) in Kerala. In view of the allegations, all the office bearers including its president and top actor Mohanlal resigned from their posts on Tuesday.
The association said in a statement that the current administrative panel resigned taking moral responsibility for the allegations. This decision was taken after the report of the Hema Committee came out.
It said that a new administrative panel would be elected within two months by calling a general meeting. The statement said that the association also thanked everyone for criticizing and correcting them.
A few days ago, AMMA general secretary and veteran Malayalam actor Siddique was accused of rape by a Malayalam actress. After this, Siddique resigned from his post.
Actresses are making various allegations against directors and makers regarding sexual exploitation as well as fees. Mohanlal was silent on this matter till now. After this actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nani reacted and also criticized AMMA.
