Sunny Deol: The year 2023 was very special for Sunny Deol because, after a long time, he returned to the big screen with the film Gadar 2. This film proved to be a blockbuster at the box office. Everyone praised him. Now the actor has revealed in an interview that he is struggling with a disease like dyslexia. In such a situation, he faces difficulty in remembering his lines.
The year 2023 has proved to be very lucky for the Deol family. This year, the films of Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were released in theatres and all three movies created a stir at the box office. Sunny Deol was seen in 'Gadar 2' after a long time. Now he revealed his battle with dyslexia in an interview.
In the interview, Sunny Deol spoke openly about his father Dharmendra and his dyslexic problem. The actor revealed that he was dyslexic in his childhood and hence he had difficulty remembering his lines on film sets.
In a conversation with Bombay Times, Sunny Deol was asked how it feels to see his father working on the sets at this age and whether it worries him. To this, the Gadar actor said, 'Someone is always worried, it seems like they are worried about us and we are worried about them. Whenever he is shooting, I go to the set to see if he is okay or not. The son thinks about the father, the father about the son. I can say this because I have sons (Karan and Rajveer), so I know how it feels.
Sunny Deol said that he does not do any research before playing his character. Giving the example of Dharmendra, he said that my father used to do films one after the other. They used to work in two to three shifts. Even after doing this, he played his characters beautifully. Let someone try this in today's time. Today's actors can't because they do research before playing their characters. I find it nonsense to do all this because doing so is a waste of time.
Talking about his roles in films, the actor said that it is different when you are playing a biographical character, but still in a film like Border, I played the role of Brigadier Kuldeep. Singh Chandpuri, I did not copy him. I understood the soul of the character and did it in my way. It's not that I did any research on how he walked or what he did. When I am doing a film, I don't even have dialogues.
It is another matter that I am dyslexic, so I cannot read and write properly and this has been my problem since childhood. At first, we didn't know what it was and people wondered... what a duffer guy. I always find my dialogues in Hindi and I take my time to read them. I read them many times and made them my own'.
