The state visit of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to the United States of America concluded a few days back. This state visit of PM Modi was very important and historical too. This state visit was discussed all over the world. This state visit was also very important for the relations between the two countries and this also increased the strength of the relations between the two countries. During this state visit of PM Modi, he also discussed many important topics with US President Joe Biden and finalized important deals between the two countries in defense, trade, space, technology, and many other sectors. But during this, PM Modi along with Biden said something which made Pakistan angry.
During PM Modi's US state visit, he and US President Biden targeted Pakistan over terrorism through a joint statement. In this joint statement, Pakistan was asked to ensure that its soil is not used as a base for terrorist activities and attacks. Along with this, both also demanded strict action against all terrorist groups listed by the United Nations, including Pakistani terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.
This joint statement by PM Modi and Biden has hurt Pakistan and the US Embassy has been summoned on its behalf.
Along with this, a statement was recently issued by Pakistan's Foreign Ministry saying, "America should refrain from such statements which are considered to promote India's baseless and politically motivated statement against Pakistan." Pakistan-US counter-terrorism cooperation is progressing well. This cooperation is based on trust and understanding, and a similar enabling environment is needed to further strengthen Pakistan-US cooperation."
