The country's leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki on Monday introduced Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) features in all hybrid variant vehicles for the safety of pedestrians. The company has introduced this feature with the Suzuki Grand Vitara. However, after introducing this feature, the company has increased the prices of Grand Vitara by Rs 4,000.

This alarm system will work when the SUV is running in fully electric mode. This alarm system will start ringing continuously in a low voice on the arrival of a pedestrian within a distance of 5 feet of the vehicle. This safety feature is very useful for SUV drivers and pedestrians in traffic.

Talking about the engine of this SUV, it comes with a 1.5-liter petrol engine along with an electric motor that generates 91 bhp and 122 Nm torque. Whereas the electric motor produces 75bhp power. The hybrid SUV comes mated to an e-CVT gearbox.

Let us tell you that this feature is available only in Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus variants of Grand Vitara. However, after introducing this feature, the company has increased the prices of Grand Vitara by Rs 4,000. The price of this electric hybrid SUV is ex-showroom Rs 18.29 lakh and Rs 19.79 lakh.
