Mahindra Thar Roxx bookings to begin from October 3, deliveries to begin from Dussehra

Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched the Thar Roxx. The company has kept its starting price at Rs 12.99 lakh. Mahindra has announced that its bookings will begin from October 3, 2024. Bookings will begin online and at brand dealerships across India. Test drives for the Thar Roxx will begin on September 14, while deliveries are set to begin from Dussehra.

Mahindra has announced prices of some variants of the Thar Roxx. Available are six variants for the 5-door Thar: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L—starting from Rs 12.99 lakh for the base MX1 petrol MT to Rs 20.49 lakh for the AX7L diesel MT. The prices, for now, are only for the RWD variants; prices for the 4x4 trims have not been shared.

The new Thar Roxx by Mahindra has large proportions compared to its sibling three-door version. It features a length of 4,428 mm with a width of 1,870 mm. Its height is 1,928 mm. The wheelbase is 2,850 millimeters. This is a five-door SUV with a new M-Gylde platform.

Now, the off-road credentials that see the Thar Rocks get an approach angle of 41.7 degrees with a rampover angle of 36.1 degrees and a departure angle of 23.9 degrees. It did have a water-wading capacity of 650 mm. The SUV rides on 19-inch alloy wheels on top trims while the lower trims get 18-inch alloy wheels. Base variants MX1 and MX3 ride on 18-inch steel wheels.

The all-new Thar Rocks derives its power from a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 174 bhp and 380 Nm. It also gets a 2.2-liter turbo diesel churning out 172 bhp and 370 Nm. Both engines get the option of a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. The SUV will also come in RWD and 4x4 variants.
