Details of the electric car Kia EV9 revealed before its launch, will give a range of up to 500 km on a single charge

The exterior highlights of the Kia EV9 will include a digital lighting pattern and star map LED DRL on the grille. On the inside, a minimalist dashboard design with a triple-screen setup can be found. Apart from this, highlights will include features like dual sunroof relaxation front and second-row seats and level 2 ADAS. Its price is expected to start from Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom).

Kia is launching its new electric car Kia EV9 in India on October 3. The preparations regarding this are also going on at the company level. It shares the E-GMP platform on which Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are based. Ahead of the launch of the India spec EV9, some specifications regarding it have surfaced, starting from features to battery pack and range.

Its design has been kept quite futuristic in nature, which makes it look quite attractive. It continues to get features such as integrated digital pattern lighting in the grille and LED DRLs called star map lighting. Coupled with this are elements, such as a headlight setup creating some sort of animated lighting pattern.

It gets a minimalist dashboard in black color along with dual-tone white and black leatherette seat upholstery. Also, the vehicle gets a triple screen setup where two are 12.3-inch screens and a 5.3-inch climate control display in between. Other details include Kia EV9's captain seats that get start/stop, climate control, and ventilation system provided with media; there is 8-way power adjustment and massage function too.

The India-spec EV9 will come to see separate sunroofs for the first and second rows, a digital IRVM, leg support, and a relaxation feature. To ensure the safety of the passengers, there can be advanced features such as Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems [ADAS] including Automatic Emergency Braking, ACC. 

The model will boast a 99.8 kWh battery pack. These two electric motors will generate 384 PS power and torque of 700 Nm. It is being said that this car will come with up to 500 km of range. It will get 350 kW DC fast charging support, which will charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes. Moreover, this will be the technology in it that will enable the powering of external devices when car batteries are in use.

The ex-showroom price of Kia EV9 can go up to Rs 80 lakh. In India, it will be seen competing with BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.
