PM Modi Papua New Guinea Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Papua New Guinea after completing his visit to Japan. After meeting British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Japan on Sunday morning and visiting the National Peace Museum, PM Modi has now left for Papua New Guinea.

The second phase of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign tour begins today. After visiting Japan and participating in the G-7 Summit, Narendra Modi has now left for Papua New Guinea. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. Where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Forum for India–Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPCI) summit. This visit of PM Modi is also important because, for the first time, an Indian Prime Minister is reaching Papua New Guinea. PM Modi will host the 3rd summit of the India-Pacific Islands Cooperation Forum along with Pn James Marpe of Papua New Guinea.

In November 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi established the India-Pacific Islands Cooperation Forum. Apart from India, FIPIC includes several Pacific Island countries - Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Samoa, Vanuatu, Niue, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Cook Islands, Palau, Nauru, and Solomon Including island countries.

Narendra Modi proposed the idea of the Forum for India-Pacific Cooperation (FIPIC) in 2014. The objective behind this was to build a healthy and friendly relationship between India and the countries of the Pacific Islands. Altogether 14 countries furthered relations with India through the forum of India Pacific Island Cooperation and FIPIC Summit.

The Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) was an integral way for India to engage with the region. Although these Pacific countries are small and located far away from India, they are strategically important. Many of these countries have special economic zones that can be useful to Indian business and trade interests. By hosting the third summit of this organization today, we will share Indian interests with the member countries.

After Papua New Guinea, PM Modi will go to Australia in the third and last leg of his foreign tour. Where he will be in Sydney on May 22-24 for a bilateral meeting with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese. On the last leg of the tour, PM Modi along with his Australian counterpart will address thousands of NRIs in Sydney. This visit of PM Modi is considered very important.

PM Modi will visit Sydney from May 22 to 24 to attend the Quad Summit. In his visit to Australia, PM Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on 24 May. Prime Minister Modi will interact with CEOs of Australian companies and business leaders at a community event in Sydney on 23 May.
