President hosted dinner for the Sultan of Oman, said this on bilateral relations

President Draupadi Murmu hosted Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday evening. Tariq also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and other dignitaries.

President Murmu hosted Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, a post from the official X handle of the presidency said. A banquet was organized in his honour. On this occasion, the President said that India recognizes and attaches great importance to the important role of Oman in promoting peace and stability in the region.

'Oman has a special place in West Asia policy'
Welcoming the first state visit of the Sultan of Oman to India, the President said, Oman holds a special place in the region as India's oldest strategic partner and the cornerstone of its West Asia policy.

President expressed happiness on relations between the two countries
A release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the President was happy to note that relations between India and Oman have truly become multifaceted. Trade and investment relations have grown steadily. Considerable progress has been made in the fields of culture, health and education.

Oman's participation in G-20 appreciated
Looking towards the future, President Murmu said that Oman's 'Vision 2040' and India's ongoing development journey create the right backdrop for us to cooperate extensively in strategic areas. The President appreciated Oman's valuable participation in this year's G-20 Summit and other related meetings under the chairmanship of India.

Agreed on strengthening bilateral relations
The President also noted the important role played by the Indian diaspora in the development of Oman and appreciated their contribution in strengthening India-Oman relations. The two leaders agreed that the visit will serve as a solid foundation to further strengthen India-Oman bilateral relations, promote regional stability and usher in a new era of cooperation and progress.
