President Draupadi Murmu congratulated Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh, wished them success in future
Shooting at Paris Olympics 2024: Manu Bhaker had earlier become the first Indian female shooter to win a medal in the women's 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics.
Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh of India brought laurels to the country by winning bronze medals in the Mixed Team 10m Air Pistol competition. Manu Bhaker created history by winning this medal. This was her second medal at the Paris Olympics. Earlier, she had also won a bronze medal in the Women's 10m Air Pistol competition. President of India Draupadi Murmu and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated Manu on this achievement.
Draupadi Murmu posted on the social media platform 'X' and wrote, "Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarabjit Singh have brought laurels to the country by winning bronze medals in the Mixed Team 10m Air Pistol event. With this win, Manu Bhaker has created history. She has become the first Indian female shooter to win two medals in the same Olympic Games. She has made the country very proud. I wish that both these players get more success in the future as well.”
Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya posted on ‘X’ and wrote, “Congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh of India for winning the historic bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. The amazing teamwork of these two players has made the whole country proud.”
Manu Bhaker had earlier become the first Indian female shooter to win a medal in the women's 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics. Before Manu Bhaker, no Indian female shooter had won a medal in the Olympics. With this, the number of medals of India in the Paris Olympics has gone up to two. Manu now has a chance to win a medal in the 25m air pistol event as well. If she wins a medal in this event as well, it will be an amazing achievement.
