The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is inching towards the knock-outs and with it, the tournament is approaching an exciting stage. The defending Australia have almost confirmed their last four berth by winning their three matches so far. Australia beat Pakistan by 9 wickets in 11 overs after bowling them out for 82 runs on Friday night. However, Australia's team has suffered a double blow in this match. Captain Alyssa Healy and the fast bowler Vlaminck have been injured. Now Australia's fourth and last match of the group stage will be against the Indian women's team on Sunday.

Chasing 82 runs, Australian captain Alyssa Healy scored 37 runs while running for the second run in batting. Due to this, she had to retire hurt and leave the field without wasting an over. After this, Alyssa Perry played an unbeaten innings of 22 not out and gave an easy victory in 11 overs.

The world's fastest female bowler Vlaeminck thus injured her right shoulder while fielding in the first over of the match. Making her first appearance in the tournament, Vlaeminck got injured just after four balls. Actually, she was present at the third-man boundary, and while chasing the ball, her left knee got stuck inside the turf due to which her shoulder got injured.

Vlaeminck has struggled with injuries before too. She has had surgery on her foot, knee and left shoulder. The seriousness of the injury will be known only after the scan. Whether Healy will be able to play in this tournament or not too will be known from the scans and reports. As far as bench strength is concerned, it is believed that the Australian team management might use it in the match to be played against India on Sunday.
