As a matter of fact, the Irani Cup match between Mumbai versus Rest of India is scheduled to start in Lucknow from October 1, for which Mushir Khan, along with his brother Sarfaraz Khan, had been selected in the Mumbai cricket team to clash with Rest of India for the Irani Cup. This young batsman Mushir was going to Lucknow along with his father Naushan Khan to play this match when this road accident happened.

A TOI report quoting the source has informed that Mushir Khan did not go to Lucknow with the Mumbai team for the Irani Cup. He was probably going to Lucknow with his father from his native place Azamgarh. During that time this road accident happened, after which he was out of the Irani Cup.

Young batsman Mushir Khan has been playing at the top order in domestic cricket since last season. In his debut match in the Duleep Trophy, he played a brilliant innings of 181 runs against India A. If Mushir is fit, he is likely to be selected for India A on the Australia tour later this year.
