PMGKAY Scheme: Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Monday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement that his government will extend the free ration scheme for five years, saying it was needed even after 10 years of good days.

Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, crores of poor people get free ration every month. Prime Minister Modi has announced to extend this scheme for 5 more years. People are considering the expansion of this scheme as a Diwali gift. Regarding this announcement, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Monday took a dig at this announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He taunted the PM and said that this was needed even after "10 years of good days".

In a post on Social Media Now PM extends the PMGKA scheme for another 5 years so that 'people do not have to sleep hungry'.

Kapil Sibal was the Union Minister during UPA I and II. He had left the Congress in May last year and was elected to the Rajya Sabha as an independent member with the support of the Samajwadi Party.
