New York: Explosion in Fort Worth hotel in Texas, 21 people injured
New York: 21 people were injured in an explosion at a hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, possibly caused by a gas leak.
A hotel in Fort Worth, Texas has exploded due to a gas leak. About 21 people were injured in this accident. The explosion occurred at the Sandman Signature Hotel around 3:30 p.m. Monday, according to Fort Worth Fire Department officials, ABC News reported. The condition of one person remains critical. Fire department officials said the incident occurred due to gas leakage. But they could not be sure that this was the reason for the explosion. At present the matter is under investigation.
Forth Worth Fire Department spokesman Craig Trojsek told the media that we have learned that some construction work was going on below the restaurant. We're not 100 per cent sure that's where it started. It is not known how many of the injured were hotel guests or others.
A man who was initially unaccounted for was found during a search by firefighters, according to officials. Trojasek said firefighters rescued people inside the hotel basement. Immediately after the explosion, firefighters were seen wading through debris scattered across the street, including window shards and exterior parts, ABC News reported.
