Nepal created history in Women's Asia Cup, registered first win by defeating UAE by 6 wickets
NEP W vs UAE W: In the opening match of the Women's Asia Cup 2024, Nepal made a great start by defeating UAE by 6 wickets. The UAE women's team, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 115 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Nepal captain Indu Burma took three wickets. Chasing the target, Nepal won the match by losing four wickets in 16.1 overs.

Nepal did the unthinkable and created history by defeating UAE in the first match of Women's Asia Cup 2024. This was the first win in the Women's Asia Cup, with Nepal managing to do so for the first time ever. After deadly bowling of captain Indu Burma, Nepal defeated UAE by 6 wickets thanks to an unbeaten half-century of opener Samjhana Khadka. UAE scored 115 runs for the loss of 8 wickets after batting first in this game. While chasing, Nepal achieved it by losing 4 wickets only.
The opening match of Women's Asia Cup 2024, Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl first. The UAE women's team had a bad start. Isha Rohit Oja was dismissed after scoring 10 runs. Tirtha Satish—9. Rinitha Rajitha could contribute only 6 runs. Samaira scored 13 and Kavisha scored 22 runs.
Khushi Sharma top-scored with 36. Khushi was the only batter who handled Nepal's deadly bowling. The whole UAE team could score only 115 runs in 20 overs. Nepal skipper Indu Burma took 3 wickets for 19 runs in four overs. Three bowlers got one wicket each.
The women's team from Nepal received the first blow at a score of 39, while chasing the target. Sita Rana was dismissed after scoring just 7 runs. Kabita Kunwar contributed only 2 runs. Captain Indu Burma returned to the pavilion early after scoring 6 runs. But Samjhana Khadka, standing at one end, played fast and completed her half century. She remained unbeaten till the end. Nepal won the game by scoring 118 runs for the loss of four wickets in 16.1 overs.
