The new generation of athletes does not have enough hunger to achieve success. They become satisfied with a single achievement. This is the belief of six-time world champion and 2012 London Olympic Games bronze medalist veteran Indian boxer MC Mary Kom. She said, I am super fit and want to achieve maximum success. This hunger is in me. The younger generation becomes satisfied once they become champions. If they also have passion and hunger like me, there will be a lot of medals in our country.

Mary Kom said, I am 41 years old, I cannot enter any international (amateur) competition this year because there is an age limit. However, I want to continue my game for one, two or three years.

Mary Kom said that despite more facilities and options in the sport compared to when she started boxing, the current generation does not have enough passion. However, expressing happiness over many young women joining boxing, she said, “My hard work has paid off.” Now a lot of Mary Koms are coming.

I feel very proud to be a girl, a mother, an Indian. Many people are following in my footsteps. When I started my career in 2001, no one knew about women in boxing.
