CM Siddaramaiah's troubles seem to be increasing in the MUDA scam case in Karnataka. The Lokayukta police on Friday registered an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case. News agency PTI has given this information quoting official sources.
According to the agency, a special court in Bengaluru on Wednesday ordered a Lokayukta police inquiry against Siddaramaiah in the case, creating the basis for registering an FIR against him. Earlier, the High Court in an order upheld the decision of Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to approve the investigation against Siddaramaiah.
The Governor had approved an investigation into allegations that MUDA illegally allotted 14 plots to the CM's wife, B M Parvati. At the same time, on Wednesday, the Special Court directed the Lokayukta police in Mysore to launch an investigation into the complaint filed by RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna. The court ordered an investigation under Section 156 (3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the submission of an investigation report by December 24.
The court had said, 'Acting under Section 156 (3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the jurisdictional police i.e. Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Mysore is directed to register a case, investigate and file a report under Section 173 of the CrPC within a period of 3 months from today.'

PTI quoted official sources as saying that Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, Devaraju (from whom Mallikarjuna Swamy had bought the land and gifted it to Parvathi) and others have been named in the FIR.
