Apart from his creations, Hindi cinema veteran and famous writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar is also known for speaking his words openly. Javed Akhtar often shares his opinion with people on many topics related to society and country. Javed Akhtar attended the ninth Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival on Saturday. During this, he described language as an important part of Indian culture.

Addressing the program, Javed Akhtar said, 'Language is an important part of India's culture, but people who do not understand its importance are making decisions about it. The soul of India is immortal, no one can destroy it, the true spirit of India and the culture of the country cannot be changed by a handful of people. People will come and go, but the culture of the country will always remain the same.

During this, he also said that the characters of today's films are not related to political topics or social issues, but are more about their own stories and experiences. He further said, 'In the 60s and 70s, the heroes of Hindi films were shown to be from ordinary backgrounds, which included labourers, teachers, taxi drivers or even rickshaw pullers, but now the picture has changed. Today's heroes come from rich families. They have nothing to do with the political and social situation of the country.

Giving examples of the songs 'Animal' and 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai', Javed Akhtar said, 'In today's time, a huge responsibility lies on the cinema watchers rather than the cinema makers, because if in a film the hero is married to a woman. If someone asks you to lick your shoes and that film becomes a superhit, then it is a very dangerous thing. Regarding the song 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai', Javed said, '8-10 people made this song together, but this song became a super hit in the society. Crores of people liked this. This is a very scary thing. You people will have to decide what kind of films will be made and what kind of films should be watched. Apart from Javed Akhtar, filmmakers Jaiprad Desai, R Balki, and Anubhav Sinha were also seen at this festival.
