Israel attacked Hezbollah with multiple rocket strikes following the attack by the group backed by Iran. Artillery fire is being directed towards a region in southern Lebanon. Numerous homes were damaged by these rockets. The amount of loss incurred was not disclosed.
According to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), it attacked and destroyed roughly 40 Hezbollah terrorist organization targets in Lebanon on Wednesday afternoon. Both Israel Air Force fighter jets and IDF artillery were used in the strikes, which took place in the southern Lebanon region of Aita ash Shab.
According to the IDF, they carried out these attacks against Hezbollah's storage facilities, weapons and terrorist infrastructure, and other areas used by the organization in the region. This was an attempt to destroy Hezbollah's infrastructure in the border area.
Hezbollah makes extensive use of the Ayta Ash Shab area for terrorist activities and has created dozens of terrorist means and infrastructure of the organization in this area, which are targeted at Israel. Hezbollah has been indiscriminately launching rockets at civilian targets in Israel since the war against Hamas in Gaza began.
Israel, on the other hand, is concerned that Iran could launch a more widespread attack at any point during the war, creating a wider conflict and dividing Israel's military. Thousands of residents of Israel's northern cities have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing threat to the northern border area since the beginning of the war.
