Since this was his team's first offence of the season under the IPL code of conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Pandya has been fined Rs 12 lakh.

If the team makes such a mistake for the second time in the season, then the captain will be fined Rs 24 lakh instead of Rs 12 and the team's Other players will also have to face punishment. If this mistake is committed for the second time, the remaining players of the team will be fined Rs 6 lakh or 25% of the match fee (whichever is less). If the team commits this mistake for the third time, the captain will be banned for one match along with a fine of Rs 30 lakh and the rest of the team players will be fined Rs 12 lakh each or 50% of their match fee.
