Team India could add only 18 runs on the second day
India started the second day with a score of 410/7 in the first innings at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The team was all out for 428 runs after adding only 18 runs. Lauren Bell and Sophie Eccleston got 3-3 wickets from England. Cat Cross, Nate Siver-Brunt and Charlie Dean got 1-1 each, while one batter was run out.
Debutant Shubha Satish from India scored 69 and Jemimah Rodriguez scored 68 runs. Yastika Bhatia was out after scoring 66 runs and Deepti Sharma was out after scoring 67 runs, while Harmanpreet Kaur scored 49 runs and Sneh Rana scored 30 runs.
England bundled out for 136, Siver-Brunt's fifty
England started their innings on the second day but they had a bad start. The team lost the wickets of Sophia Dunkley and captain Heath Knight for just 28 runs. Both could score only 11 runs each. Nate Siver-Brunt, who came at number-4, played an inning of 59 runs, but in front of her, Tammy Beaumont 10, Danielle Wyatt 11, Amy Jones 12, Kat Cross 1 and Lauren Filler could only score 5 runs.
Deepti Sharma took 5 wickets
Sophie Eccleston, Charlie Dean and Lauren Bell from England could not even open their account. Deepti Sharma from India took 5 wickets giving just 7 runs. Sneh Rana got 2 successes, while Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar also got one success each. There was also a batter runout.
India lost 6 wickets in the second innings
On the very next day, India also started its second innings. Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma made a partnership of 61 runs. Mandhana was out after scoring 26 runs and Shefali was out after scoring 33 runs, after which there was a flurry of wickets. Yastika Bhatia 9, Jemimah Rodriguez 27, Deepti Sharma 20 and Sneh Rana were out without opening the account.
Harmanpreet Kaur remained not out after scoring 44 runs and Pooja Vastrakar remained not out after scoring 17 runs. There has been a partnership of 53 runs between the two, both will take India's innings forward on the third day. Charlie Dean got 4 wickets and Sophie Eccleston got 2 wickets from England.
