IND vs BAN: Akash Deep wreaked havoc, Bangladesh lost 3 wickets for 26 runs till lunch
India vs Bangladesh, 1st Innings, Day 2: By lunch on the second day, Bangladesh has scored 26 runs in their first innings after losing three wickets in nine overs. Fast bowler Akash Deep wreaked havoc on the Bangladeshi bowlers and put the team on the back foot by taking two wickets back to back.

The first match of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh is being played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The second day of this match has been launched. Bangladesh's batting has fallen in front of the wreaking bowling of Indian fast bowler Akash Deep and they have lost three wickets for just 26 runs.
Bangladesh had a poor start after India's first innings folded for 376 runs. Jasprit Bumrah provided a jolt by clean bowling Shadman Islam off the first over, scoring just two runs. Then Akash Deep set Bangladesh on the backfoot, taking two wickets on two consecutive balls in the ninth over of the innings, just before lunch.
Akash dismissed Zakir Hasan on the first ball of the ninth over. On the second ball, he clean-bowled Mominul Haque and sent him to the pavilion. Zakir scored three runs while Mominul could not even open his account. Currently, captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto with 15 runs and Mushfiqur Rahim with four runs are at the crease.
Earlier, the Indian team had managed 376 runs in the first innings. On the first day, India had finished the day's play at 339 runs for six wickets. Jadeja was unbeaten at 66 and Ashwin at 102. But on the second day, the Indian batsmen could not take the innings forward and the entire team was all out after adding only 37 runs. Second day Bangladeshi fast bowler Taskin Ahmed wreaked havoc on the Indian lower order.
India got the first blow in the form of Ravindra Jadeja on the second day in Taskin Ahmed catch to wicketkeeper Liton Das. Jadeja scored 86 runs. He shared a 199-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Ashwin. Then Taskin also dismissed Akash Deep. Akash scored 17 runs and made a 24-run partnership for the eighth wicket with Ashwin.
Then, Ashwin was caught by Shanto off Taskin as he scored 113 runs. It is his sixth century in Tests. Bumrah became the victim of Hasan Mahmud after scoring seven runs. Hasan took four wickets on Thursday and with Bumrah's wicket he completed a five wicket haul. He has taken two five wicket hauls in two consecutive Tests. He is the first Bangladesh bowler to take a five wicket haul in Tests against India in India. Apart from this Taskin took three wickets. Nahid Rana and Mehdi Hasan Miraz got one each.
