Along with this, he shared a long note saying that he had to face a lot of embarrassment due to his physical stature. Not only this, people started speculating that he takes drugs.

Shares post on Instagram
Imran Khan shared the post from his official Instagram account and wrote, 'I was always thin. I am one of those few hyper metabolic people whose body remains the same no matter what they eat. I joined a gym in my late teens and started working out. The biceps of everyone present there used to stretch the sleeves of their T-shirts. I was the only one who used to wear small size T-shirt, that too used to fit me loosely.

Used to get advice from people to gain weight
Referring to his debut film 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na', the actor further wrote, 'I did not need to be fit to play the role of Jai Singh Rathore. But, I was told that I was too thin. That's why Jai Singh mostly wears double layer clothes in this film. I joined the gym for the next film 'Kidnap' and my body building journey began. For the next few years, building my body became part of my lifestyle. I used to work out regularly, but I would still hear, 'So...you'll gain some weight before you start shooting, right?' You look like a little child. You look weak. The heroine looks older than you. Such things would be told to me.

Was not getting the desired body
Imran said, 'I felt very unsafe at that time. I myself wanted a good strong body and worked hard for it. But, exercise means nothing without adequate nutrition. I would take six miles a day and total 400 calories. All the good things including chicken, eggs, potatoes, oats, flax seeds were in my diet. But these things were not helpful in making my biceps like the hero I see on the screen. For this I needed whey protein, creatine, leucine, glutamine, L-carnitine and anabolic steroids.

Imran struggling with depression?
Imran further wrote, 'I have been struggling with depression in recent years. I stopped working out. I became leaner than I had ever been before. Then when my photo came in the media, discussions started. Speculations started about my taking drugs. I felt very ashamed of my condition. So I myself retreated. This journey was very difficult for me. But these days I am in a better condition. I work out with my old friends. My health comes first for them. He gives me healthy supplements along with exercise. Now I don't feel bad about myself.
