How is G20 Summit venue Bharat Mandapam from inside: The world's largest indoor hall, chandelier brought from abroad for the summit room
Delhi's Supreme Court Metro Station, which is always crowded, is empty these days. This is the nearest metro station to Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the G20 Summit. As soon as you get down from here, Delhi Police vehicles start appearing everywhere. One can reach Bharat Mandapam by walking 10 minutes from the station.

The most talked about thing in the G20 Summit is the Bharat Mandapam. Dainik Bhaskar spoke to its architect Sanjay Singh. His company Rcop Associates has prepared this project with Singapore company Edas. Artwork from every state is used in its decoration. The most special is the chandelier imported from the Czech Republic for the Summit Hall. Heads of state of 29 countries will meet in this hall.
At present, the area around Bharat Mandapam is closed for the general public. Apart from Delhi Police, NSG and Army personnel are deployed for its security. No one is allowed to take photos or make videos. No one can enter Bharat Mandapam without official ID. These IDs have been issued by the Ministry of External Affairs. To go inside one has to go through 5 level security check.
6 thousand laborers, 7 years of hard work, then Bharat Mandapam was ready
Architect Sanjay Singh says, 'The Government of India gave us this project in October 2016. We prepared many designs. Tried to make the building modern. Also showed every corner of India. After getting approval from the government, work on it started.
200 architects, consultants, engineers, technicians and designers from both the companies worked. About 6 thousand laborers were employed. Shapoor Pallonji Group got the construction work. Work did not stop even during Covid. We used to hold online meetings. Bharat Mandapam will be ready in July 2023.
5 floors of Bharat Mandapam
Floor-1: PM Lounge & Meeting Room
The design of Bharat Mandapam has been kept elliptical. When seen from outside it appears curved. Its height is 35 meters. There is a seating arrangement for the Prime Minister on the first level. It is 6 meters high. PM lounge, bilateral lounge and meeting room have been built. The capacity of the meeting room is 600 people. It also has a meeting room with a capacity of 50 and 100 people.
Floor-2: Prepared as per VVIP standards, G20 summit will be held here
G20 summit will be held at this level. It has been prepared for world leaders according to VVIP standard. The G20 Summit Hall is 7 meters high. Here the Prime Minister will welcome the remaining delegates. Apart from this, there are two auditoriums and Leaders Lounge. One auditorium can seat 600 people and the other 900.
Floor-3: World's largest indoor hall
There is a multipurpose hall on this floor. Above this, the level of the fourth floor is slightly slanted. 40 feet of the roof of the third floor can be removed. Due to this, both the floors together become an auditorium. 7000 people can sit in it. According to Sanjay Singh, this is the world's largest indoor hall. There are 6 LED screens installed in the auditorium.
Floor-4: Window to Delhi, overlooking Rashtrapati Bhavan
Sanjay Singh calls this floor Window to Delhi. India Gate and all the domes of Rashtrapati Bhavan are visible from this floor along with the duty path.
Floor-5: There is space for technician staff on this floor.
The kitchen is in the building behind Bharat Mandapam. In this, food can be cooked for 10 thousand people at a time.
