Helicopter crashes during flight, 3 killed including pilot

The name of another plane has been added to the list of plane crashes. According to local emergency services in the Zeya district of Russia, the Robinson R66 helicopter, which went missing on Monday, was found near the place where its emergency beacon was activated.

An official said that the wreckage of the helicopter that went missing last evening has been found. The death of all three people on board has been confirmed. According to preliminary reports, the helicopter's emergency beacon signal was received on Monday evening. After this, a search and rescue operation was launched with 20 personnel and seven equipment units.

According to news agency Xinhua, the helicopter belonged to the gold mining company Hergu. It was flying over the company's territory when it went missing. Rescue teams found the wreckage on Tuesday afternoon, a few hours after the search operation began. The Eastern Interregional Transport Department of the Russian Investigative Committee has filed a criminal case in connection with the disappearance of the helicopter.

Earlier this month, a similar incident took place in the country's Kamchatka region in which 22 people on board the Mi-8T helicopter died. According to emergency services, the Mi-8T helicopter disappeared from the radar shortly after takeoff, although the crew did not report any problems before losing contact.
