71-year-old folk singer Sharda Sinha was born on 1 October 1952 in Supaul district of Bihar. His father Sukhdev Thakur was an officer in the education department. Sharda had great interest in music since childhood. Seeing his passion for music, his father admitted him to the Indian Dance Arts Centre. Along with learning music, he also completed his graduation. After this, she got married to Dr. Brijkishore Sinha, professor of political science.
She told in many interviews that her mother-in-law was against her singing. She did not want her daughter-in-law to go anywhere to sing. She did not allow her to sing even in the Thakurwadi of the village. However, after some time her mother-in-law agreed and in the year 1971 there was a big change in his musical life.
Sharda Sinha has sung very few songs in Hindi. All the songs sung by her in Bollywood have received a lot of love from the audience. All her songs sung in Hindi are evergreen. 'Kahe Tose Sajna Tohri Sajniya' from Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Bhagyashree's famous film 'Maine Pyar Kiya' is still the favorite song of the audience.
