German army officer was spying for Russia, sentenced to jail

On some occasions in different countries, cases of spies from other countries being caught come to the fore. Something similar has happened once again in Germany. Recently a person has been arrested in Germany on charges of spying. And the person who has been arrested is not an ordinary person, but a German army officer. This army officer has been arrested on charges of spying for Russia.

The name of the person arrested on charges of spying is Thomas H. contacted the Russian embassy in Berlin and gave secret military information. When he did this, he was a captain in the procurement office of the German Army.

Thomas was taken into custody in August on suspicion of spying. Thomas was taken into custody in Koblenz on suspicion of sending images of aircraft technology and training systems for war material to the Russian embassy.

In a Dusseldorf court on Monday, the defendant admitted to his crime. He called it a dumb idea and acknowledged in court that he had given the Russian embassy access to military secrets. Thomas apologized for his actions as well.

Thomas received a 3.5-year prison term for his Russian espionage.
