Driving license will not be cancelled till February 29, MORTH extended validity
Validity of Driving License: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) has extended the validity of the Learning License, Driving License, and Conductor License by eight days.

The validity of the driving, conductor, and learner's licences has been extended by eight days by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH). The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued the directive and stated that there has been an issue with the ministry's Sarathi portal for the past few days. This portal was being updated frequently by the ministry. Many people's licences are about to expire as a result of this.
According to a Ministry of Road Transport and Highways circular, from January 31, 2024, to February 12, 2024, the Sarathi portal had infrastructure-related problems. Applicants have experienced difficulties in accessing services related to licences in a situation like this.
The Road Transport Ministry said that given this, such learner licenses, driving licenses and conductor licenses, whose validity has expired between January 31, 2024, and February 15, 2024, will be considered valid till February 29, 2024, without imposing any penalty.
