Gautam Gambhir, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a veteran Indian cricket player, made an unexpected choice on Saturday. Gambhir, the Member of Parliament for East Delhi, has decided to retire from politics. On X's account, he tweeted this information himself. The key query in this case is why Gautam Gambhir made this decision out of the blue.

Gambhir wrote in his tweet, 'I have requested party president JP Nadda to relieve me of my political duties so that I can focus on cricket. I sincerely thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for allowing to serve the people. Jai Hind!'

Gambhir is part of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He will join this team as a mentor. Along with IPL, Lok Sabha elections are also going to be held. In such a situation, if Gambhir had focused on elections, perhaps he would not have been able to give time to cricket. Perhaps this is the reason why the veteran player has decided to leave politics. Apart from IPL, Gautam Gambhir also does commentary for cricket matches. Gambhir is often seen commentating in international matches. For these reasons, the player asked to relieve me of my political duties.

Is there any reason other than cricket? Due to this Gambhir has taken this decision. Be it the cricket field or politics, Gambhir's temper is always hot. After the incident, the local MLA said that the MP used sharp words with him in the Sarva Samaj conference. Even before this, there have been allegations against him many times that he ignores the party leaders at the local level and takes very little part in the party events.

Apart from this, Gambhir did not remain very active in politics after becoming MP. Only on select occasions did he participate in the campaigns and demonstrations run by the party. Due to this, even the top leadership was angry with him. It was believed that the party was going to field a new candidate by cancelling Gambhir's ticket in this Lok Sabha election.
