Mercedes-Benz India has introduced a new AMG Line trim in the GLE 300d 4MATIC, which gives the luxury SUV a more sporty look. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line is priced at Rs 97.85 lakh (ex-showroom, India). And it will replace the Professional Line trim currently being sold. The luxury carmaker has already introduced the AMG Line on the GLE 450d and GLE 450 variants and this completes the new car lineup.
Under the bonnet of the GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel mill that produces an output of 265 bhp of power and 550 Nm of peak torque. This motor comes in aid with an inline 48-volt mild-hybrid ISG which boosts overall power by 20 bhp along with additional torque of 220Nm. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to each wheel. This GLE 300d can achieve a speed from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds, with its top speed being 230 km/h.
The company's bestseller with a facelift in terms of its appearance and hardware is represented by the GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line. It features a new diamond grille with a chrome finish inside which a large three-point star is fitted into the center. The single louvers are painted dark grey matte and come fitted with chrome inserts along with black frames.
Besides this, the GLE 300d AMG Line gets an AMG front apron with chrome strip and an AMG rear apron in a diffusor look. The wing flaps at the front and at the rear are in the color of the car just as the specially designed air inlets at the front come. SUV also received an upgrade to 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels that come in a tremolite grey color. This has a larger braking system with perforated front disc brakes. With this upgraded model, the price of the company increased by Rs 1.2 lakh compared to its older variant.
Other upgrades include the latest generation MBUX infotainment system. Which comes with more controls for comfort functions through an LCD screen. The GLE also features a 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE competes with many cars in the Indian market. Which includes the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Lexus RX, Volvo XC90, and similar cars in the luxury SUV segment. This model is one of the best-selling models for the company.
