Delhi-Noida's air becomes dangerous; Capital's AQI reaches 306, smog in Mumbai; Bhopal is the best
Before the onset of cold, the air in Delhi-Noida has started becoming dangerous. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), AQI i.e. Air Quality Index was recorded at 306 in Delhi on Monday morning. In the Air Quality Index it is considered very bad for humans.
Delhi's air has gone from bad to very bad category. AQI reached 302 on Sunday afternoon, which increased by 4 points to 306 on Monday morning. It was 173 on Saturday, which suddenly increased to 266 on Sunday morning. On Monday, AQI was recorded at 330 around Delhi University and 266 at India Gate.
A thick layer of smog gathered in the sky in Noida on Monday morning. AQI 322 was recorded here. Apart from this, the air in Mumbai also reached moderate level. Here AQI had reached 127 in the morning. Bhopal's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 33 on Monday. That means the air of Bhopal is the best.
Diwali, Dussehra and Parali will have to be taken care of: Rai
Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the cold has started increasing in Delhi and the wind speed has reduced, which may lead to increase in pollution. Also, environment ministers of nearby states have assured that action will be taken against stubble burning. Rai said that Diwali, Dussehra and Parali will have to be taken care of. The next 10 to 15 days are important for Delhi.
The air in Mumbai remains in moderate category
SAFAR on Monday rated Mumbai's air as moderate. The AQI was recorded at 127 in the city on Monday morning, while 115 AQI was recorded on Tuesday last week. Earlier this month, the city's air was rated in the good category.
According to experts, the reason for deteriorating air quality is the increasing heat in the city. The average temperature of the city remained between 32 to 34 degrees for a week, due to which the air quality came in the moderate category.
Warning to stop work of negligent people in Mumbai
BMC had warned on Friday that if measures are not taken to prevent dust and pollution, it will shut down those construction sites which are not following the rules. In an official notice, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal was quoted as saying that currently construction work is going on at 6 thousand sites in the city.
Central Pollution Control Board data showed that the air quality index or AQI was above 200 (poor) at many places in the city during the day. After which the Municipal Corporation Commissioner said that the standards should be followed at all the sites. The construction of those who are negligent will be stopped, whether it is private or government work.
