Delhi Excise Policy Scam: The Supreme Court has rejected the bail plea of BRS leader Kavita, arrested in the Delhi liquor scam case. Also, the court has said that he should approach the trial court for this. The Supreme Court has also sought a response from the ED on the petition of BRS leader Kavita within six weeks. ED says that during the search evidence has been found against him.

The Supreme Court has struck down the poetry of the BRS leader who was detained in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. His request for bail has been denied by the Supreme Court. Nonetheless, a notification was sent regarding his appeal contesting specific clauses within the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Kavita was asked to approach the lower court by a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna, MM Sundaresh, and Bela M Trivedi, who stated that protocol could not be disregarded as this court follows this practice.

The bench said that as far as Kavita's petition challenging the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) is concerned, the court is issuing notice to the ED and seeking its reply within six weeks.

"The petition challenging the provisions will come along with the pending cases," the bench told senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Kavita. Initially, Sibal said that people were being arrested based on the statement of a government witness.

Daughter of former state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Kavitha is a member of the Telangana Legislative Council. She was taken into custody by the Enforcement Department on March 15 and kept there until March 23.

According to the Enforcement Directorate, K Kavita, the leader of the BRS, plotted with prominent members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), such as Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, in order to gain an advantage in the creation and execution of the Delhi excise policy. Leaders of the AAP were also paid Rs 100 crore for this.
