Boeing: 'Alaska Airlines accident was our fault', says Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun

Boeing Chief Executive Officer Dave Calhoun took responsibility for the horrific incident at Alaska Airlines on Tuesday last week and pledged 'full transparency'. "We are the first to admit our mistake," Calhoun told employees at a safety meeting Friday after the plane made an emergency landing. He said, "We will take action in this matter with 100 per cent and complete transparency."

Calhoun, who took over the top job at Boeing in January 2020, is hurt by the recent developments in the planes. He said his company is committed to working closely with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) which is investigating these cases.

Dave Calhoun said the NTSB is a capable institution and we trust every step they took and their findings. After the accident at Alaska Airlines, the US regulator grounded 171 Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft.
