Halal certification on any product is completely banned in Uttar Pradesh. This ban will apply to food products as well as medicines. There will be a complete ban on manufacturing, storage, distribution and sale of such products. It is certain that there will be an exemption for products sent abroad. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary of Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, Anita Singh has issued an order. All food and drug inspectors have been instructed to continuously monitor.

Halal certificate has been issued on meat and its products exported abroad. The situation was such that gradually the seal of Halal certification started being put on all the products including oil, soap, ghee. In a way, a tactic was being adopted to sell the product through this certification. On receiving information about the matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took information about the situation from the team of Food Safety and Drug Administration Department. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, a strategy was made to stop it. It has been banned in the state on Saturday. Any food products and medicines without Halal certification will not be accepted in the state. An order in this regard has been issued on Saturday. If any product is found not having Halal certification, action will also be taken against the concerned manufacturer. Along with manufacturing, storage, distribution, sale has been completely banned.

There will be exemption for export
If any exporter operating in the state prepares his food products or medicines for countries where only food products with Halal certification are accepted, he will be given exemption. He will be able to manufacture, store and distribute the finished product to another country.

What are the rules?
There is no rule for Halal certification in the state regulations. Only quality, packing, labeling should be right. After the new order, if anyone prepares or stores and distributes medicines, cosmetics and food items with Halal certification, then action will be taken against him under Act 1940 and related rules. Under this, there can be imprisonment of three years, fine of one lakh rupees, and under Rule 18A, there can be imprisonment of six years or fine of Rs 25 thousand.

What do you mean by responsible?
If any company sells its products in Uttar Pradesh without displaying Halal certificate, then strict action will be taken against it. This has been completely banned in the state.
