'As soon as he heard a female-oriented film, he used to close the door', Tahira Kashyap took six years to make this film
Tahira says that among the population of women, not everyone is beautiful or 20-25 years of age. Tahira further says that I always wanted to make films. Earlier I did not have the courage to take risks because there was a fear of failure. I also have two children, so there was pressure on me. Then I thought I'd take the risk...

Making women-oriented films is not easy even today. After knocking on many doors one gets the opportunity. This is the belief of writer Tahira Kashyap Khurana, wife and director of actor Ayushmann Khurrana. His film Sharmaji Ki Beti is ready. However, it took Tahira six years to make this film.
She says that many times it has happened that I did not even get a chance to tell my story because it is a women-oriented film. As soon as I told the title of the film, the answer was that the name was interesting, but as soon as I further told that it is a story of women of five different ages, then the door used to be closed for me. The story was not heard beyond that.
So it took me six years to make this film. Women face many problems in their lives. Looking at my experiences, I decided to talk about those issues. It was also important for me to show women of different ages because the stories of women we have seen in films have mostly been shown in the age group of 20 to 28.
Women of earlier and later ages do not receive attention. Among the female population, not all of them are beautiful or 20-25 years of age. Tahira further says that I always wanted to make films. Earlier I did not have the courage to take risks because there was a fear of failure. I also have two children, so there was pressure on me. Then I thought I would take a risk, knock on doors, and start from the beginning, so I kept writing the story. I had in my heart that I would make a film.
