In Indian Wells, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain registered an impressive 6-3, 6-3 win against Fabian Marozán. In this way, he has also avenged the defeat in Rome last year. He has also confirmed his place in the quarter-finals of the ATP Master 1000 event. This is the second seed's 50th match win at the ATP Masters 1000 level. Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, continued his best 2024 season and reached the Indian Wells quarter-finals with a 7-6(4), 6-1 win against home favourite Ben Shelton.

An hour and fifteen minutes passed during Carlos Alcaraz and 24-year-old Fabian's match. Before Alcaraz was broken in the seventh game, the two were tied at the beginning. The first two break points of the match were saved by Fabian, but the Spaniard rallied spectacularly. There were numerous instances like this where the two players engaged in fierce competition, but Alcaraz ultimately emerged victorious.

The German Alexander Zverev, who defeated Carlos Alcaraz in four sets during the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, will now take on the two-time Grand Slam champion.

Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, continued his best 2024 season and extended his winning streak to 18 matches by reaching the Indian Wells quarterfinals with a 7-6(4), 6-1 win against home favourite Ben Shelton. Sinner will next face 32nd-seeded Czech Jiri Lehkam in the quarterfinals, who defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-2, 6-4 to reach his first Masters quarterfinal.
