3 countries including America did not support Canada
Trudeau wanted ruckus before G-20, Biden-Sunak cannot afford displeasure of India
The case of murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada has now taken the shape of diplomatic tension between India and Canada. Both the countries have expelled one diplomat each from the other. Advisories have also been issued for their respective citizens.
Meanwhile, an important revelation has been made in a special report of the American newspaper 'Washington Post'. According to this, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wanted to raise this issue before the G-20 summit held on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi. For this, he also talked to the heads of the governments of America, Britain and Australia. But, far from supporting Trudeau, no one even wanted to criticize India on this issue. This report can be read in detail here.
America did not pay attention to Trudeau
- According to the report of 'Washington Post', on September 18, before accusing India in the Parliament of being allegedly involved in the murder of Nijjar, Justin Trudeau had also talked to his special ally America. Trudeau wanted America to publicly condemn Nijjar's murder as wrong.
- An American officer was quoted in the report as saying - America has completely rejected this appeal of the Canadian Prime Minister. However, Canada's Foreign Ministry is calling this report wrong. In fact, America and its allies know very well that if anyone can compete with China, it is only India, and angering the Modi government will be very costly for the Western World.
- The report says- Trudeau has made serious allegations against India at a time when President Joe Biden's government is making India its biggest geopolitical and trade partner. Both want to control China. In such a situation, Biden would never want to upset Prime Minister Modi.
- Trudeau also spoke to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. However, both of them did not give any statement against India. Australia only expressed concern on this issue. Britain's Foreign Secretary James Cleverley could not even express concern.
Canada's new problem
- According to this report, Trudeau wanted the issue of Nijjar's murder to be raised before the G-20 summit in New Delhi. However, he could not do so because America, Australia and Britain had clearly told him that it could have serious consequences.
- Not only this, the Indian Foreign Ministry had told these four countries long ago that the image of these countries is getting spoiled due to the activities of anti-India people. After this, America, Britain and Australia assured India that the security of its diplomats and other places will not be compromised.
- One thing is very important to note in this matter. In fact, apart from India, China and Iran have also been accusing the Canadian government that their citizens and diplomats are harassed in Canada and the government there does not take any action against the accused.
What do experts say
- Famous strategic expert and author of many books, Michael Kugelman told Washington Post – Biden is in double trouble. They are not able to understand whether they should support Canada or India. The truth is that for America, this time is like walking on a rope tied at a height. Canada is an old ally for them, but now no country wants to have a direct confrontation with India.
- Michael further says – Till last year, the Canadian government wanted to control China with the help of India. He also released a strategic plan. The world has seen the debate between Trudeau and Xi Jinping during dinner in Bali last year. Now he has also bought Modi's displeasure. America and its allies will never support Trudeau in this work.
- Singapore University scholar Karthik Nachippan, who keeps an eye on India-Canada relations, said – This has been an issue of tension between the two countries for a long time. If this is not resolved the situation can become much worse.
- Former Canadian Intelligence Chief Jessica Davis said – No country can do direct target killing in another country. What were our investigation and security agencies doing? The first question should be asked to him.
